NHDPlus is a database that interconnects and uniquely identifies the millions of stream segments or reaches that comprise the Nation's surface water drainage system. NHDPlus provides a national framework for assigning reach addresses to water quality related entities, such as beach monitoring locations, beach advisories, beach closures, etc. Reach addresses establish the locations of these entities relative to one another within the NHDPlus surface water drainage network in a manner similar to street addresses. The assignment of reach addresses is accomplished through a process known as reach indexing.This is an EPA-produced data set. CGI will make available a list of new or revised Beach IDs and their associated latitude and longitude points to RTI on at least the last workday of each month during the standard data loading timeframe (October through May).
