Global FloodPLAIN (GFPLAIN) mapping uses a geomorphic algorithm. Geomorphic FloodPLAIN mapping algorithm GFPLAIN is based on Nardi et al. (2006, 2018).  
The data is available at the hydrobasin 4 level.  HydroBASINS data provides a series of polygon layers that depict watershed boundaries and sub-basin delineations at a global scale (http://www.hydrosheds.org).   </idAbs>

<idPurp>GFPlain90 floodplain  data provides a series of raster datasets that depict floodplains wetlands at a global scale. Each raster represents a single hydrobasin. 
These 90 meter floodplains were created to help identify globally non-floodplain wetlands.  Floodplains were created globally by hydrobasin. The floodplain extent resolution of 90-m was resampled to 30-m for performance assessment and overlap analyses with the wetland spatial data. </idPurp>
